COMPLIANCE WITH TITLE VI – NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Title VI Notice to Public 

The Greater Derry Salem Cooperative Alliance for Regional Transportation (CART) hereby gives public notice of its policy to uphold and assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, The Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and all related statutes. Title VI and related statutes prohibit discrimination in Federally assisted programs and require that no person in the United States of America, shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, religion or disability be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal assistance.

Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice regarding CART’s programs has a right to file a formal complaint with CART. Any such complaint must be in writing and submitted to the CART Title VI Coordinator within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged occurrence. DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) PROGRAM

Cooperative Alliance for Regional Transportation (CART)
DBE Three Year Contracting Goal
It is the policy of CART to ensure non-discrimination in the award and administration of CART contracts; to create a level playing field on which Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) can compete fairly for federally assisted contracts; and to help remove barriers to the participation of DBEs in CART contracts. CART has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), 49 CFR Part 26. CART has established a DBE contracting goal of 3.7% for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5307 funded programs as authorized by the Federal Transit Act of 1964, as amended, for the Federal Fiscal Years FY2017, FY2018 and FY2019 which run from October 1 through September 30 of the following year.
